The Toy Workshop Union Meeting
The chief elf at the North Pole called an emergency staff meeting in the main workshop three days before Christmas to address a sudden drop in wooden train production. Standing on a workbench, he held up a clipboard and announced that the toy-car assembly line had fallen four hundred units behind schedule because the night shift had taken an extended hot chocolate break. An outspoken elf in the back row raised his hand and shouted, "We're working sixteen-hour shifts in sub-zero temperatures with no daylight! We need better working conditions!" The chief elf adjusted his pointy hat, leaned over the bench, and replied, "Listen here, Bernard—you get free rent in a magical castle, unlimited gingerbread cookies, and a thirty-five-hour work year; don't make me reassign you to the reindeer stable cleanup crew."
The High-Tech Toy Conversion
An old-school North Pole elf who had been hand-carving rocking horses for two hundred years was suddenly reassigned to the new digital electronics division to assemble high-end tablet computers. Sitting at a high-tech workstation surrounded by soldering irons and microchips, he stared at a motherboard in complete confusion for two hours. When the supervisor walked by to inspect his work, the elf held up a piece of pine wood and a carving knife, saying, "I tried installing the operating system like you asked, but I can't figure out where the whittling attachment goes on this circuit board."
The Reindeer Stable Inspection
Santa conducted his annual Christmas Eve pre-flight inspection of the reindeer stables, checking the harnesses, hooves, and sleigh hitches for any signs of wear. When he reached Dasher's stall, he noticed that the reindeer was wearing a pair of bright red, oversized furry earmuffs over his antlers. Santa raised an eyebrow and asked why he was wearing winter apparel inside a heated stable. Dasher stomped his hoof and grunted, "Santa, if I have to listen to Comet sing 'Jingle Bells' out of key for ten thousand miles across the Atlantic again this year, I'm going to crash us directly into the North Sea."
