Police Neighborhood Watch Stories

A newly formed neighborhood watch group was eager to prove its effectiveness to the local police department. Late one night, a member spotted a dark figure lingering near a driveway, wearing a heavy coat and moving slowly from house to house. Excited to make a difference, the neighbor called the police non-emergency line and reported a suspicious prowler in the area. A patrol car arrived minutes later and located the individual. The officer approached with his flashlight raised, only to discover it was the neighborhood watch coordinator himself, who had lost his cat and was checking under everyone's trash cans with a small penlight.
