Fishing Jokes Part 3

The Wedding Anniversary Dilemma

A man had been planning a week-long dream fishing trip off the Florida Keys for over a year. He reserved a chartered boat, booked a seaside cabin, and bought hundreds of dollars in heavy-duty tackle. However, just three days before he was set to leave, his wife realized the trip coincided directly with their twentieth wedding anniversary. She confronted him in the kitchen, cross-armed and furious. 'If you pack your bags and go on that stupid fishing trip instead of staying home to celebrate our anniversary, I am packing my bags, filing for divorce, and leaving you forever!' The man stood stunned, staring at her in silent contemplation for a long, heavy minute. Finally, he let out a deep sigh, walked slowly toward the bedroom closet, and began pulling out his suitcases. His wife gasped, shocked that he was making his choice so quickly, and yelled, 'So you're actually leaving me for a bunch of fish?!' The man paused, looked back over his shoulder, and said calmly, 'Honey, a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day in court... plus, the charter deposit is completely non-refundable!'

The Golden Wedding Anniversary Gift

An old fisherman and his wife were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They sat together on the front porch sipping tea while looking out over the quiet lake behind their home. The wife looked over at her husband, who was carefully re-spooling braided line onto his favorite baitcasting reel. She smiled warmly and said, 'Dear, we've had fifty wonderful years together. In all that time, you've spent almost every single weekend out on the lake fishing. Tell me honestly... have you ever regretted choosing me over your fishing hobby?' The old angler stopped reeling, thought carefully for a moment, and looked into her eyes. He replied softly, 'Not for a second, my sweet pea. You're the best catch I've ever made.' She beamed with joy and wiped away a tear. 'Oh, that is so romantic! What made you realize I was the one?' He smiled and said, 'Well, you never complain when I bring home dirty boots, you clean all the fish without throwing up, and best of all, you fit perfectly in the bow of my boat to balance out the livewell!'

The Funeral Procession on the Bridge

Two dedicated anglers were sitting in their bass boat anchored under a high highway bridge on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The water was still, the rods were resting on the gunwales, and they were enjoying a peaceful, quiet day of fishing. Suddenly, one of the fishermen noticed a long, solemn funeral procession driving slowly across the bridge high above them. Black hearses, limousines, and dozens of cars with their headlights on streamed across the span. The fisherman immediately stood up in the boat, removed his wide-brimmed fishing hat, bowed his head low, and held the hat over his heart in complete silence until the very last car had crossed the bridge. His fishing buddy watched this display with deep admiration and respect. When the procession cleared, he said, 'Wow, main, that was truly one of the most touching, respectful things I've ever seen a person do on the water.' The man put his hat back on, checked his line, and sighed softly, 'Well, it was the least I could do. After all, we were married for thirty-five years.'

The Classified Ad in the Local Paper

A passionate bass angler bought a brand-new $70,000 tournament bass boat equipped with twin screens, side-scan sonar, dual power-poles, and a 250-horsepower outboard engine without consulting his wife. When he pulled into the driveway towing the shiny rig, she lost her temper completely. She marched out to the driveway, handed him a notepad and pen, and snapped, 'Either that boat goes, or I go! Write a classified ad for the newspaper right now or I'm calling a lawyer!' The angler hung his head, sat on the tongue of the trailer, and wrote down an advertisement. The next morning, his wife opened the local newspaper to check the classified section and read his notice: 'FOR SALE BY OWNER: Gorgeous 2026 Tournament Bass Boat. Fully loaded, lightning fast, immaculate condition. Will trade for a friendly, quiet wife who knows how to back a boat trailer down a ramp without panicking. Please send photo of boat trailer skills.'
