Humorous Police Traffic Stop Stories

The Donut Shop Guard Duty

Two rookie police officers were assigned to night patrol near a local bakery known for its hot, fresh donuts. As they sat in their patrol car across the street, watching the bakery lights, one officer turned to the other and asked, 'Why do you think people always make jokes about cops and donuts?' The second officer took a moment to think, took a sip of his coffee, and replied, 'Honestly, I have no idea. But if anyone tries to rob that bakery right now, they're going to encounter the highest concentration of law enforcement personnel in the tri-state area!' Both officers laughed as the smell of fresh glazed donuts filled the cool night air.

The Confused Tourist and the One-Way Street

A traffic cop watched as a car turned down a clearly marked one-way street, driving directly against oncoming traffic. The cop immediately flashed his lights, pulled the driver over, and walked up to the window. 'Sir,' the cop asked sternly, 'did you not see the signs? Do you know where you're going?' The driver, a bewildered tourist holding a crumpled paper map, looked up at the officer and replied, 'Well, Officer, I'm not sure where I'm going, but wherever it is, I must be very late because everybody else is already coming back!' The officer couldn't hold back a laugh and kindly gave the tourist directions to the main highway.

The Talking Parrot witness

Police officers responded to a reported burglary at a suburban house while the homeowners were out of town. Upon entering through the broken back door, the officers drew their flashlights and moved carefully through the dark living room. Suddenly, a high-pitched voice echoed from the corner: 'I see you, and Jesus is watching you!' The lead officer froze, shining his beam into the darkness. Standing on a perch was a large green parrot. Relieved, the officer chuckled and said to the bird, 'Oh, it's just a parrot.' The bird tilted its head, looked directly at the officer, and squawked back, 'My name is Polly, but Jesus is the Doberman standing right behind you!'

The K9 Unit's Best Friend

A police officer working with a K9 unit was driving down the highway with his trained German Shepherd sitting in the back of the patrol vehicle. Another driver sped past them going twenty miles over the limit. The officer turned on his sirens and pulled the speeding car over. As the officer walked up to the driver's window, the police dog stuck his head out the back window and began barking loudly. The driver looked terrified, handed over his license, and stammered, 'Officer, I'm so sorry! I'll pay whatever fine you give me, just please tell your partner in the back that I didn't mean any harm!' The officer smiled and said, 'Don't worry, he's just expressing his disappointment with your driving.'
